Basement Media Festival/Spectacle Theater

by

A former student of mine, LJ Frezza dropped by my office today. He has curated the Basement Media Festival, which will be presented tonight.

October 29th, 2013
7:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Paramount Center
Bright Family Screening Room

The Basement Media Festival is a survey of contemporary artists working with lo-def, lo-tech, and lo-fi motion pix techniques. Founded in response to the commercial race for hi-res and true-to-life IMG quality, Basement is a celebration of the mediated experience as an aesthetic experience. Equal parts glitched digital videos, fuzzy VHS, and grimy 16mm film, this year’s screening ought to plaza any connoisseur of experimental .MOVs. Sponsored by Department of Visual and Media Arts

Also importantly, LJ curates the screening program at Spectacle Theater in Williamsburg, New York. The are accepting submissions. I encourage you all to submit your work.
